Art Forms In Flux 2.0

29 10 2016

On April 16th, round two of Art Forms in Flux happened at the Hairpin Arts Center, in Chicago.

The show included everything from dance and fashion shows to projection art, installation art and giant inflatables. It was an evening that will not soon be forgotten by those who attended this unique mash up of medias, all inspired by the script for the play State Park, written by Aaron Weissman.

Two Lights Theater Co. gave a bunch of artists the script for a play and asked them, without ever seeing the play, to create works based off the script. Two Lights then hosted two gallery style shows with sculpture, fashion, dance, paintings, robots, projections, and even 3D landscapes created by some of the best artists around.

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated here. Sorry. I got a new day job and that whole dream job, freelancing on the side thing kind of got pushed aside for a bit.

Just because I haven’t updated this, doesn’t mean I haven’t been shooting though.  For a really quick recap of summer, check out my Flickr Here.

Otherwise, stay tuned for a series of makeup posts. I had several adventures including Michigan, Wisconsin, a new Theater’s debut, and a few festivals.

My favorite, the black eyed susan.

My least favorite, poison Ivy… this photo is in Michigan though I got poison Ivy (for the first time in 30+ years of camping and hiking) this year in Wisconsin.

Honey Bee. So very important.

Things I didn’t expect at the Chicago Marathon:

11 10 2015

1. Having a runner run up and hug me! A friend I haven’t seen in over a year, looking all good at mile 18!

2. Eminem to be “spirit music” on the loud speakers.

3. Over hearing a runner explaining an episode of Friends to another runner, also at mile 18.

4. A guy from Chicago Fire Department running the whole damn thing in full gear, and I mean tank and all.
